NOTICE: Old Manchester Road Drop Off Closure
Effective May 22, 2026, the WWRA will be closing our community drop off bin location at 1187 Old Manchester Rd, Chelsea, MI. This decision was necessary for future community development and increasing WWRA operational expenses at this site. The WWRA is still driven to find alternative ways to handle waste and promote recycling in our communities. After this closure, the WWRA will have 6 community recycling drop off sites available.
Please be reminded that illegal dumping is forbidden at WWRA community drop off centers. Illegal dumping occurs when someone dumps unrecyclable items in or outside of the WWRA’s recycling bins. Common items include furniture, construction waste, tanglers, foam, plastic bags, or bagged recyclables. This can be done by someone who hopes other bin users will take home the items, or by someone who does not want to dispose of waste correctly. Leaving unrecyclable items in or near bins is illegal and may be subject to a $1,000 fine. Instead, dispose of or donate items as needed.
