Yard Signs are NOT Recyclable
With election season coming to a close, it is important to note that Corrugated Plastics, like the plastic used for yard signs, are NOT recyclable at the WWRA. This material is made out of mixed plastics melted together at high pressure, and is too low quality for recycling mills to make into new products. Metal stands used to prop up yard signs are similarly NOT recyclable. Metal H frames can become jammed in the WWRA’s recycling equipment, causing costly repairs.
If you know of a local candidate or organization offering a yard sign takeback program, please let us know! In the meantime, yard signs can be repurposed into “for sale” or “yard sale” signs for your next sale. H frames can be brought to scrapyards like Razorback Metals in Dexter, MI.
