Camp Recycling
It's camping season! Whether you prefer to keep it simple or have a house on wheels, camping is a great opportunity to reconnect with loved ones and nature. Here's some tips to make your next camping trip more sustainable:
1) Use silverware, plates, bowls and cups from a thrift store and wash them in the campground sink! Remember: disposable dinnerware is NOT recyclable.
2) Rinse all aluminum casserole dishes or tin foil before recycling, or purchase pots and pans from a thrift store.
3) Use reusable ice packs instead of purchasing ice. These can be purchased at outdoors stores, or you can reuse grocery delivery service ice packs like we do! Remember: thin plastics, like ice bags, are NOT recyclable
4) Plan out meals ahead of time to reduce the amount of food waste you generate.
