Repurpose Your Pumpkin!

With Halloween quickly approaching, you may be looking at your Jack-o’-lantern and wondering when that smile wilted into a frown…but don’t worry! You can take your pumpkins to local farms for free and give them a second life! Until December 15th, pumpkins can be dropped off at local sites such as Jacob’s Fresh Farm, Rustic Roots Farm, and many others to be composted or fed to livestock. For hours and locations, view this resource:

Washtenaw County Pumpkins for Farms

Signs at each location show you where to leave your items. Pumpkins, gourds, or squash only. No other yard waste or food scraps are accepted. This program is for residential use only. Not for business use. This is a list of working farms. There are potential hazards such as animals, heavy equipment, electrical fences, etc. The County and the WWRA assumes no liability for injuries received on the farms. Washtenaw County and the WWRA does not have a relationship with these farms and does not endorse any farm. If any farm is interested in joining the list, please contact recycle@washtenaw.org or 734-222-3950.
