Bags: Recyclable or Not?
Most bags are not recyclable at the WWRA: but do you know what bag is?
Most bags are made out of unrecyclable materials and are not accepted at the WWRA. These include
- Plastic bags
- Burlap bags
- Mesh feed bags
- Metal lined chip bags
- Leather bags
- Cotton or textile bags
Do NOT recycle these bags. Instead, consider a takeback program for some pet food brands, grocery store bags, and fashion brands.
So, what bag can you recycle at the WWRA? Paper! Paper bags are recyclable at the WWRA. These are great options for easy transport of your recyclables. Remember: never bag recyclables in plastic grocery or trash bags. If you would like, you can use an unsealed paper bag to drop your recyclables off at one of our bin locations.
