May 3rd 2008 Washtenaw County Clean-Up Day Product Intake Report
The 2008 Clean-up Day at the WWRA was a huge success thanks to all the workers and residents that participated. Through the joint efforts of Washtenaw County, the Western Washtenaw Recycling Authority, and the Chelsea Transfer Station, the County Clean up day collected the following items.
Approximate figures for the Recycling Center:
- 780 Tires and Wheels
- 1000 Gallons of waste oil
- 2000 lbs of Computers
- 175 Computer Monitors
- 200 Television Sets
- 125 Microwaves, Fax Machines, and Stereos
- 144 Refrigerators, Window Air Conditioning and Dehumidifier units.
- 2500 lbs of Automotive Batteries
- 37,000 lbs of Hazardous Materials, Aerosols, Paints, Light Bulbs, Cleaners, Solvents, and contaminated Oils.
- 21 Propane Tanks
- 90 Yards of Rigid plastics
Chelsea Transfer Station:
- 200 Yards of Demolition Materials
- 75 Yards of Trash Materials
